Interim Housing Program (IHP)

On January 1, 2010, our former emergency shelter transitioned into an Interim Housing Program (IHP), consistent with Chicago’s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. The IHP will provide the same quality and effective level of services as the emergency shelter and will focus on stabilization and rapidly re-housing persons who are homeless into appropriate permanent housing.

Men who come to North Side’s IHP will have the same shower facilities, warm meals served, laundry equipment, intensive case management services, and now, 24-hour access. In addition to the increased access, supportive service programs are still available including an on-site health care and health care educational programming and intensive case management. New employment workshops around job training and placement is also scheduled to begin in late February.

The IHP will continue to be located at Lakeview Lutheran Church, 835 W. Addison Street, Lower Level. North Side looks forward to building its capacity to further the goal of ending homelessness in Chicago.
